      <title>Staff Accountant</title>
      <description><![CDATA[<p><span>The position is in Administration and reports directly to the Director of Financial Services for all matters, including job duties, performance evaluations, approval of leave, and for other assignments as deemed necessary for the benefit of the Baton Rouge Orthopaedic Clinic (BROC).</span></p><p><b><span>Duties/Responsibilities:</span></b></p><p><span>The Staff Accountant is responsible for assigned areas related to financial reporting, general ledger management, physician compensation, quarterly tax payments, audit preparation, and all other accounting and financial functions as assigned by the Director of Financial Services.</span></p><p> </p><p><span>Assist the Director of Financial Services in developing and maintaining accounting principles, practices, and procedures to ensure that complete and timely information is presented to the Board, Administration, and the Physicians. Function accurately within tight deadlines and must be able to simultaneously coordinate several accounting, financial, and reporting activities.</span></p><p><b><span>Required Skills/Abilities: </span></b></p><p> </p><ol start="1" type="1"> <li><span>Process bi-weekly payroll after reviewing time and attendance reports for accuracy.</span><span></span></li> <li><span>Receives and processes vendor invoices and internal check requests and maintains vendor files.</span><span></span></li> <li><span>Obtains and maintains a thorough understanding of the financial reporting and general ledger structure.</span><span></span></li> <li><span>Ensures an accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year end close. This process includes, but is not limited to, posting and reconciling AP and AR transactions, reconciling all bank accounts, reconciling patient collections, maintaining fixed assets and depreciation allocations, reconciling payable accounts, timely funding of payroll liability accounts, and reconciling other miscellaneous ledger accounts.</span><span></span></li> <li><span>Manages equipment lease accounts, ensuring timely payments and analysis of invoices.</span><span></span></li> <li><span>Ensures the timely reporting of all monthly financial information.</span><span></span></li> <li><span>Prepares monthly sales tax returns.</span><span></span></li> <li><span>Processes patient refunds and analyzes and reconciles them to the report provided by the Billing Supervisor.</span><span></span></li> <li><span>Ensures the timely reporting and funding of 401K accounts for both employees and physicians.</span><span></span></li> <li><span>Manages and ensures accurate set-up of self-directed retirement accounts.</span><span></span></li> <li><span>Maintains accruals for profit sharing calculations and distributions.</span><span></span></li> <li><span>Prepares annual census reporting, ensuring accuracy by reconciling items with the annual W3.</span><span></span></li> <li><span>Prepares annual W3 and W2 forms.       <title>Trauma Mid Level Provider</title>
      <description><![CDATA[<div><div><p><span>NATURE OF DUTIES:</span></p><p>The nature of the duties is to provide patient care in a hospital setting in support of a supervising physician. The PA/NP treats patients in a caring, warm and professional manner.</p><p><span>SPECIFIC DUTIES</span>:</p><ul><li>Functions independently in the hospital setting and at times in the absence of the supervising physician. These PA/NP functions are at the discretion of the supervising physician and BROC policy.</li><li>Assists the supervising physician with hospital visits which includes, but is not limited to, the following:</li><li>Obtains patient history</li><li>Performs physical examination on the patient</li><li>Orders imaging and lab studies as appropriate</li><li>Dictates visit notes</li><li>Prescribes medication, orthotics, braces, and other orthopedic devices as necessary</li><li>Formulates a diagnosis</li><li>Formulates a plan of care</li><li>Schedules surgical procedures</li><li>Applies/removes casts</li><li>Performs injections/aspirations</li><li>Coordinates with Attending Physician on call for point of care.</li></ul><p><br></p><ul><li>Hospital duties include, but are not limited to, the following:</li><li>Assists the supervising physician with performing the initial evaluation and management of patients in the Emergency Department</li><li>Assists the supervising physician with performing inpatient daily rounds</li><li>Assists the supervising physician with performing floor and emergency department consults; and, assist the supervising physician with performing inpatient chart documentation, signatures, updates, discharge summaries, etc.</li><li>Understands and follows all OSHA and HIPAA rules at all times.</li><li>Performs other related duties as assigned and serves in whatever other capacity deemed necessary for successful completion of the mission and goals of BROC.</li><li>Patient Care</li><li>Provides direct patient care management to high acuity patients including performing histories and physicals, admits, and discharges; related to the care of specialty patients focusing on the maintenance, achievement, and restoration of optimal functions of patients.</li><li>Performs individual rounds on all inpatients, MET patients. Evaluates with Attending Physician providing documentation of medical finds and plan of care.</li><li>The PA/NP will visit patients prior to surgery, conduct discharge teaching afterwards, and prescribe medications as appropriate, including narcotics.</li><li>Provides routine Medical Management of inpatient care such as ordering diagnostic tests, labs, x-rays, nutrition, and medications.</li><li>Partnership and Collaboration</li><li>Plans, implements and evaluates nursing medical care consistent with medical treatment and care in collaboration with physicians. Additionally, the PA/NP will initiate or modify medical treatment within an established plan of medical protocol.</li><li>The PA/NP will assist with consults, write orders, coordinate with consulting physicians, and accompany physicians on rounds.</li><li>The PA/NP will analyze clinical data; order and/or perform necessary diagnostic tests or procedures; develop, implement, and evaluate the therapeutic regimen.</li><li>Under the direction of the Attending Physician, conducts minor procedures as needed including insertion and removal of central venous catheters, chest tubes, indwelling venous and arterial catheters, venous punctures, arterial punctures, nasogastric tubes, bladder catheters, lumbar punctures, endotracheal intubations, PIC lines, and bedside ultrasonography.</li><li>Adheres to mutually agreed upon Clinical Practice Guidelines and scope of practice with supervising physician.</li><li>The PA/NP will teach and provide support for patients and their families; minimize fragmentation by providing coordination of care; manage transition of the patient to step-down units or to out-patient settings; and serve as patient advocates.</li><li>The PA/NP will also participate in multidisciplinary rounds and communicate treatment plans to the physician, nursing staff and patient families.</li><li>The Criteria for Hospital Setting</li><li>Patients of this role are of higher acuity in a specialized area.</li><li>PA/NP is on call and simultaneously manages multiple medical tasks and processes;</li><li>PA/NP conducts hospital rounds and medical management of the patient;</li><li>PA/NP assists attending physicians with procedures and initiates appropriate emergency care in lieu of Attending Physician.</li></ul><p><span>QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE POSITION:</span></p><ul><li>Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner degree from accredited college.</li><li>Current, valid, and unrestricted state license.</li><li>Obtain and maintain Board Certification through NCCPA/AANP.</li><li>Prior experience as a Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner is desired.</li><li>Good communication, organizational, and customer service skills.</li><li>Ability to learn computerized medical office systems.</li><li>Must maintain credentialing requirements at hospitals and surgical facilities as requested by supervising physician.</li><li>Maintain ability to participate in all federal, state, and commercial payors and insurance programs as designated by BROC.</li><li>Maintain ability to procure insurance against claims alleging acts of malpractice or substandard care.</li></ul></div></div><div><p>Job Type: Full-time</p></div><div><p>Experience:</p><p></p><ul><li>relevant: 1 to 2 years in Ortho (Trauma specifically)&nbsp;</li></ul><p></p><p>Education:</p><p></p><ul><li>Master's (Preferred)</li></ul></div>]]></description>
